Sibling Rivalry, Helping Our Children Get Along

A parent asked an excellent question concerning helping children get along:
"Can you tell me how to encourage our children to get along together? I have two boys and there are days when I feel like a referee! How do we parents cultivate patience and help our children just get along?“

As an educator, I am a strong proponent of "modeling. and setting the example. I have two children and they don’t always agree but they are always expected to get along and respect each other.

It’s important that our kids grow up to love and respect one another. The best things that we as parents can do is model respect, demonstrate positive communication and emotional maturity.

Our children will model what they see and experience. So, first and foremost, we must model positive interpersonal skills.
