When you know both yourself as well as your competition, you are never in danger.
To know yourself and not others, gives you half a chance of winning. Knowing neither
yourself or your competition puts you in a position to lose." ~ Sun-Tzu

Greetings Champions,
It's been said many times over that "knowledge is power." As a student of the Martial Arts, there is always opportunity to increase your knowledge of the various arts and styles we teach and share.
There is also the opportunity to increase your own self-awareness.
Part of this may be awareness of your own habits, good and bad. Understanding how certain foods and drinks effect you and your performance. Awareness of your attitude and emotions and what influences you toward the positive side and what leads you to the negative side.
Black Belt Champions are aware of their own strengths and weaknesses, as well as their opponents. In some cases, the real opponent is our own emotions or habits. Champions also seek to understand their inner source of motivation and inspiration.
They know their true purpose with a clear vision of their goals and direction.
With this type of self-awareness, they are positioned for long term health, wealth and happiness. It leads to long term sustained success in athletics and in life.
Summer is here and it's such a fantastic time of year for outdoor activities and outdoor training. Jogging, swimming, biking, hiking and much more. Knowledge is power, especially self knowledge that allows you to become better at everything you do and dream of doing.
What's our primary message this week? To stay on the path of self improvement through the study of your Martial Arts and your own personal self development
To know yourself and not others, gives you half a chance of winning. Knowing neither
yourself or your competition puts you in a position to lose." ~ Sun-Tzu

Thank you Mrs Dinoto for sharing this. My ambition is always to strive for mastery and that begins with the mindset (and commitment) to constant and neverending improvement of ones self, yes?
